Background

This is a record of my astrophotography adventure.  Is partly a record for myself and partly for interest for anyone else who wants to try astrophotography.

I'm amazed how much astrophotography has developed since I first tried back in the 1980's.  In those days it was colour negative film and unless you had loads of money, a rather disappointing experience. 

Nowadays there are many telescopes, mounts and cameras available all at a relatively low price, and with a little application, amateurs like myself can produce amazing images.
